What you’ll do

Choose on arrival from our Signature Wooden Ducks (most loved) or decorative pottery. We’ll set you up with everything you need, guide you as much (or as little) as you want, and you’ll take your creation home the same day.

Simple pricing: reserve your seat, then choose and pay for your item on the day.

Items range: £12–£35
Wooden ducks start from: £26
Most guests spend: around £20–£30 per person

Same-day take home: pieces are sealed in-studio (we do not kiln-fire pottery).

This reservation is for your creative seat and studio experience and is separate from the item you choose to paint. Please book for everyone who will be coming into the studio.

We all had a fantastic time at Arty Boats in Exmouth! The whole family loved painting a duck in our own individual designs, and it was an activity everyone could enjoy together. The family who run it are incredibly organised, friendly, and helpful, making the whole experience relaxed and fun. Not only was it a really enjoyable activity, but we also came away with a unique piece of artwork to treasure forever. Highly recommended for families looking for something creative and memorable!

We organised a Hen Do for 26 ladies! The Arty Boat was just perfect. Super easy to book and very accommodating. We had such a laugh and all the ducks came back home safely. Thank you again. From all The Pink Flamingos 🦩

We’ve visited arty boat a few times and they’re always polite and helpful. Their workshops are great fun and you come away feeling very artistic. Great fun for all ages and all skills!

Had such a lovely time here today with my little boy! The staff were really friendly and helpful, and the whole place had such a cosy, relaxed atmosphere. I painted a cute strawberry frame while enjoying out drinks , and he was so excited to show everyone his “parrot” he was honestly buzzing with pride!

There were loads of colours and things to choose from, everything was clean and well set up, and it was such a nice activity to do together. We’ll definitely be coming back again for the third time, perfect for a fun, creative day out with kids. 🎨🍓🦜💕

Our second visit to this fabulous place. Last time, we painted our wooden ducks. This time, we have painted pottery ornaments. It is fantastic fun and we get tea and cake! Brilliant fun, just the best. Keep going guys we will be back soon.
Ps I come into Arty Boat everytime I’m down from Kent. Roughly 6-8 weekly 😂

Me and my son went to arty boat today, I painted a bear and my son painted a duck, we had an amazing experience. The staff were very helpful (giving my son a hand to paint his duck) and made sure everyone was happy.

Our group of 4 had a fantastic time at Arty Boat yesterday. We were celebrating two of our group who had gotten married earlier that day and Arty Boat were incredibly accommodating and communicative.

We had a wonderful time painting the pieces we’d chosen and found it to be such a fun, therapeutic and wholesome 3 hours of our afternoon.

The two members of staff were lovely and made everyone feel very comfortable, while also being experts in how to improve your piece.

We left full of joy (and delicious cake) with great souvenirs of our day. We would all wholeheartedly recommend Arty Boat to anyone looking for something to do in Exmouth and beyond!

Just visited this lovely shop, the man and woman there were lovely, the afternoon tea was great value for money, all the sandwiches and cake were amazing, and loads of it, we were a group of 5 adults and 4 children, we all painted something and had a great time, I would recommend this place and we will be going again. Had the best time at ArtyBoat painting a duck with my sister. The experience was so good and so worth the price! The man in there made the experience so good and couldn’t of been kinder and more helpful. Also the cake I had was beautiful! We are so so happy with our ducks and cannot wait to go again sometime!

Had a fabulous and relaxing few hours painting my duck!
The owners were friendly and welcoming, the cake delicious 👌
We were walked through the process and given a wide range of paints to choose from plus a number of photos for inspiration.
You can take your items away the same day but they were also very accommodating in allowing me to collect the next day (rather than carrying around).
Would fully recommend a visit!

Had the very best time at Arty Boat Duck painting. 3 hours of creative time with lots of support if needed. Which it was. Lovely tea and cake which made it extra special and lots of laughs too . Loved the ducks we painted and they are pride of place at home…booked again for decoupage can’t wait to learn this and have more delicious cake and fun. Thank you so much so book, book now !!
