Arty Boat After Dark – Evening Painting Sessions 🌙
Looking for something fun and relaxing to do in Exmouth in the evening?
Join us for Arty Boat After Dark, our adults-only painting evenings where you can unwind, enjoy the atmosphere and get creative with wooden ducks or pottery.
Bring your favourite drink, come along with friends or enjoy a little creative time for yourself. There’s no need to rush, and no artistic experience is required.

We’re known as The Duck Place in Devon, home of our Signature Wooden Duck Painting Experience®. Choose from our much-loved wooden ducks, pottery pieces and other creative items, then decorate your chosen piece in your own style.
Our hosted painting sessions are perfect for adults, families, couples, friends and visitors looking for unusual things to do in Exmouth, including rainy-day activities near Exeter and the Devon coast.

Are your workshops suitable for adults?
Absolutely! Arty Boat is popular with adults, couples, friends and solo visitors. Our life drawing and After Dark sessions are exclusively for adults aged 18+.

Booking ahead is recommended because spaces are limited, particularly for specialist workshops and popular dates. Use the booking buttons above to check current availability.
Can I bring my own drinks?
BYOB is welcome at After Dark and life drawing sessions. Please check individual workshop details for other events.
Can I take my creation home the same day?
Regular wooden duck and pottery painting creations are varnished and taken home the same day. Resin artwork needs time to cure, and glass fusion pieces must be fired before collection.
Where is Arty Boat?
We’re based in Exmouth, Devon, opposite Exeter Road Primary School and near Exmouth Library. We’re a convenient creative day out for visitors from Exeter and the surrounding area.
How much do workshops cost?
Prices vary by experience. Regular painting sessions have a £3.50 per-person reservation fee, with items paid for separately on the day. Specialist workshop prices are shown in their descriptions.
