What is Arty Boat?+
Arty Boat is a relaxed, creative studio in Exmouth offering pottery painting, wooden painting (including our much-loved ducks), Sip & Paint sessions and creative workshops for all ages and abilities.

If you’re looking for something different, Arty Boat offers hands-on creative sessions that are ideal for families, couples, friends and visitors. A calm, memorable alternative to the usual day-out activities.
Are there creative workshops in Exmouth for families and kids?+
Yes. We’re very family-friendly and welcome children of all ages. Our pottery and craft sessions are popular during school holidays, weekends and as birthday treats.
Can adults book pottery painting or creative workshops?+
Absolutely. Adults are very welcome and often visit for pottery painting, evening sessions, creative time with friends, or a relaxed date day.
Do you offer activities for couples or adult-only sessions?+
Yes — our workshops are ideal for couples, adult groups and creative catch-ups. Enjoy a relaxed atmosphere with no pressure or experience needed.
What are the best days out near Devon Cliffs?+
We’re a short drive from Devon Cliffs and centrally located in Exmouth, making Arty Boat a great creative day out for holidaymakers and locals alike.
Do I need to book in advance?+
Booking is recommended, especially at weekends and during school holidays. Walk-ins may be available if we have space.
How do I book a session at Arty Boat?+
You can book online, or walk in if we have availability. For weekday bookings during term time, the easiest option is to message us via WhatsApp.
How does pricing work for pottery painting?+
You pay for the item you choose on the day. All paints, materials, aprons and friendly guidance are included — there’s no separate studio fee.
Do we take our creations home the same day?+
Yes. All creations are taken home the same day with a protective coating applied. There’s no kiln firing or waiting involved.
Do you provide food and drinks?+
Yes. We offer hot and cold drinks plus a range of treats including cakes, cream teas and afternoon tea options. Vegan and gluten-free options are available where possible. You can also book for afternoon tea only — you don’t have to paint.
Can we bring our own drinks (BYOB)?+
Some evening sessions and events allow BYOB. If you’re unsure for your booking, just message us and we’ll confirm.
Do you offer parties or group bookings?+
Yes — we host children’s parties, birthdays, hen parties and group bookings. If you don’t see what you need, just get in touch and we’ll help where we can.
What are your opening hours?+
We operate mainly by booking.
  • Term time: Saturdays 10am–7pm, Sundays 11am–5pm
  • School holidays: Open daily 10am–4pm

Where are you located?+
We’re at 46 Exeter Road, Exmouth Town Centre, close to the train station, bus routes and several public car parks. The nearest is London Road Car Park.
